we create greetings cards using a Tatebanko method

We handcraft greetings cards, and related products, to celebrate a range of global festivals including Christmas, CNY, Dragon Boat Festival, Easter, Halloween, and so on. If you celebrate it, we probably make a card for it. All our cards are made using a traditional papercraft method called Tatebanko, updated for the modern-day.

Tatebanko at a glance

Tatebanko is the traditional Japanese art of handcrafting dioramas out of cardboard that recreate, in miniature, a story from history or mythology. First started in 17th century Japan Tatebanko grew in popularity until the mid 20th century when it was obsoleted by the introduction of mass printing. Subsequently, Tatebanko has been rediscovered and its popularity is growing once again.
